E-Learning for Clinical Teachers
Online shop FAQs
Why have you switched to online bookings and payments?
We have introduced the new system so that the Faculty Development course bookings process will be quicker and more accessible for London Doctors and Dentists. Once you have completed your first registration you should be able to book a course place in a matter of minutes without having to search for your cheque book or fill out a paper form. Online booking cuts out time lost by delays in the postal service. The move to card payments is also necessary as banks will gradually phase out cheque books/cheque processing over the next few years.
Can you raise an invoice to my Trust so they can pay the course fee?
Unfortunately not. It is not possible to process invoices via our new online bookings and payment system. You will need to pay for the course place yourself online using a credit/payment card, you could then use the email receipt generated to claim the money back from your Trust.
Can I have a receipt?
Yes. As soon as your course booking and payment has been successfully processed through our online system you will receive an automatically generated email confirming the place and payment; this will be your official confirmation showing you have paid the fee.
Can I transfer my course booking and payment to another course/another date?
Unfortunately not. You will need to cancel the place, we will refund you the fee if your cancellation is more than 14 days before the course (please see our terms and conditions at www.faculty.londondeanery.ac.uk/short-courses/terms-and-conditions for further details). You can then submit a fresh booking application and payment for the new course/date. To cancel a place please contact the Faculty Development team by email with your name and course details at: facultydevelopment@londondeanery.ac.uk
Can my PA/secretary/colleague book and pay for a place online for me?
Yes. All they need to do is follow the instructions and prompts on the online bookings system.
Can I book a provisional place?
Unfortunately we are no longer able to hold provisional places for delegates.
How do I cancel my booking if I am no longer able to attend the course?
To cancel a place please contact the Faculty Development team by email with your name and course details at: facultydevelopment@londondeanery.ac.uk
If I cancel my booking and am to be refunded, how quickly will I be refunded?
We will aim to process a refund within 5 working days of notification of the cancellation. An automated email will be sent to you confirming that the refund transaction has been completed. Unfortunately we have no control over how quickly your bank will process the refund. Please allow at least 10 working days for the money to appear in your account before contacting the Faculty Development Administrator at: facultydevelopment@londondeanery.ac.uk
Can I send a cheque for the course fee?
Unfortunately not. The new bookings and payment system can only accept credit card/debit card payments.
What should I do if I believe I am eligible for a free course place? (i.e., Deanery funded FME fellows)
Contact the Faculty Development Administrator before you submit an application online. Tel: 020 7866 3133 facultydevelopment@londondeanery.ac.uk
What should I do if I have technical problems whilst trying to book a place?
Please email facultydevelopment@londondeanery.ac.uk in the first instance and ensure to include DETAILS of the problem, and if possible a screen print of the error.
How do I know if I am "involved in teaching and training on behalf of the London Deanery"?
If you supervise London Deanery trainees in your workplace (ie trainees who have a London National Training Number, prefix LDN) then you are involved in teaching and training on behalf of the London Deanery.
What if I do not teach or train London Deanery trainees?
London Deanery Faculty Development courses are only available to those clinicians who are teaching/training for or on behalf of the London Deanery. We do have most of our courses available as e-learning modules which are freely available to all from the "E-learning modules" section of our website.
