GP Educational Supervisor Course

· Provided by Multiprofessional Faculty Development, HEE

· Free to attend

· Time commitment: Two (face-to-face) days with additional online reading

· Audience: Uni-Professional. Mandatory for GPs who wish to supervise GP specialty trainees.

This course will be available from December 2019. Before attending the course, you must have completed an introduction to learning and assessment course. Options regarding such course can be found in our ‘Pathway to becoming a GP educator in primary care’ guidance in the downloads section to the right.

Programme: This two-day course will cover:

· Competency based medical education and its alternatives

· GP training-specific workplace-based assessment

· Educational supervision and ePortfolio

· Reflective practice

· ARCP

· Managing trainees in need of additional support

 

Eligibility: In order to be eligible to apply, participants will need to provide evidence of:

1. Being in a substantive GP post

2. Ability to attend all course days

3. Ability to train GP speciality trainees within 2 years

4. Membership of your GP Trainer Workshop

5. Certificate of completion of an approved introduction to workplace learning and supervision course OR a post graduate certificate in medical education.
