Focus Groups on the Multi-Source Feedback Tool for Supervisors

As you will be aware the GMC recognises the importance of accrediting supervisors. Earlier this year the GMC led a consultation on proposals regarding the recognition and approval of trainers. As a leader in this field the London Deanery’s 2012 edition of the Professional Development Framework has incorporated the GMC’s proposed changes, including the need for recognition and approval of named (i.e. formally identified) clinical supervisors.

In order to support the professional development of supervisors the London Deanery has developed a range of resources including a Multi-Source Feedback tool for Educational Supervisors.

We are currently revising the MSF to ensure that it is also suitable for use by named clinical supervisors. We would like to invite trainees who currently have a named or formally identified clinical supervisor, as well as consultants currently acting as formally identified clinical supervisors, to attend a focus group on this issue.

The focus group will be held on Thursday 6th September. If you would like to attend the focus group then please email Sam Ferman at for further details.

We look forward to hearing from you.
