How to revalidate with the NMC

This module has been designed to support Practice Nurses to meet the requirements of the NMC’s Revalidation process. It provides links to other relevant e-modules which will help you develop a clear understanding of the requirements. It also has a number of case studies demonstrating how you can meet Revalidation requirements. In addition, it has a number of links to the NMC website.

Throughout the module there are Thinking Points, Information Points, Action Points and Case Studies to help you focus on specific aspects of the Revalidation process.

What is Revalidation?

Revalidation is a process that will help you to demonstrate that your practice is up to date and that you practise within the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code.  To access ‘The Code’ please click here

Some Practice Nurses are concerned about revalidation. This e-module has been designed to help you by identifying ways in which you can plan exactly how you are going to meet the requirements of the Revalidation process.

Thinking point

You are going to be the owner of your own Revalidation process and take responsibility for meeting its requirements.

  • What do you need to know about the Revalidation process and its requirements?
  • Which healthcare colleagues can you discuss Revalidation with?
  • Where can you find further support and information?
